"This place has got some awesome steaks and normally they are cooked very well. The service is better than average but a lot of the time it is hit and miss. Good wine on the menu as well. "

"The steak has great flavour and is one of the best I have had in this country. It`s not cheap and the service was a little hit and miss but the restaurant has a great atmosphere and I will definitely return to give it another try."

"I was a little dissapointed with my visit to the Hawksmoor. I'd heard so many great things about the place from friends so I decided to take my girlfriend out for a nice meal.

We had a few cocktails to start with and the staff were fabulous, and very knowledgable about which cut of meat to choose.

I went for the 600g rib eye. It was a very impressive piece of meat to say the least but unfortunately not the best tasting steak I've ever had. It was a little chewy and dry and just didn't have the same flavour as some dry-aged (and cheaper) steaks I've had elsewhere. The triple cooked chips were amazing though.

The restaurant itself has a very laid back and casual feel so I think its more suited to a meal out with friends rather than a romantic dinner for two.

Again the staff were great but the Hawksmoor is a little pricey so for that reason I would have to say I found it a little over-rated.

Overall it was a good (and very filling) meal, but I hope my next experience is a little better."

"In my humble opinion definitely the best meat in London. It might not be the slickest restaurant, and its definitely not a cheap night out, but I've never had a better steak in London.."
